As an Assistant Professor I am involved in teaching the following subjects viz. Moulding technology, Iron Casting Production, Melting Technology and Steel casting production. In addition to that I am also responsible for teaching students with material testing methods namely hardness testing, tensile, metallographic analysis, spectro analysis, XRF, XRD, salt spray testing, impact testing and green sand testing used in metal casting.

I am responsible for the Business Development of refractories in the Ferrous casting division comprising of a comprehensive product range viz. exothermic and insulating sleeves, mold coatings(water and spirit based), filters(10,20,30,40 ppi), inoculants, Ferro-Siliocn alloys fluxes, anti-piping compounds and other SPM’s used in the metal casting industry. My main responsibilities include identifying new customers and maintaining the existing ones by regular interaction with concerned personnel to keep a check on quality of products and achieved results. Conducting trials at customer’s ends to authenticate the applicability of products and validate the obtained results. Proving the EVC value of the products to customers and offering a competitive price quote over our competitors. Keeping a track on credit histories of various customers and ensuring timely payments.

In VESUVIUS, I underwent extensive training modules comprising of Iron casting, steel casting and independent training modules on all foundry chemicals. I have worked on designing metal feeding systems for various materials including iron and steel. In addition to that I was involved in development of a specialty converter ladle for SG iron production aimed at maximum Mg recovery and hence ensuring minimum use of inoculation reducing the process costs. I was also responsible for development and research of flow control equipments in steel making viz. ladle shrouds, mono-block stoppers, slide gate refractories, castables and other components incorporated in tundish furniture. I had the additional responsibility for Quality control of flow control equipments and cycle time reduction in the manufacturing processes.
