Career Profile After completion of Textile Engineering from SASMIRA , Bombay in 1997 , I opted to further devote one year in Business Management Studies – Diploma in Business Management from Podar College , Wellingkars , Bombay which I completed in 1998.I used to work during the half day as a Field Investigator in a Textile Magazine named Dealers For You , so that I could gain knowledge as much as I could in the same time and studied in the other half of the day . My First job was in Karsondas Exports , in 1998 , an Export House of repute in Bombay , joining in as a merchant I gradually developed into Merchandising Manager and handled key accounts like Pier 1 , Ikea , Crate and Barrel and Mitsubishi Living . I did my first overseas business tour to Zurich , and also did my first Heimtextil Frankfurt trips from here. With in depth work on sampling , production and quality control I also worked and learnt on compliancies and ISO Certification Processes . Karsondas Exports was amongst the first Indian Export Houses to get ISO certification. Synergy Lifestyles in Jan 2002 , an Export House was my very brief second job , where I was the Merchandising Manager heading a team of 3 people with accounts like Crate and Barrel and Cost Plus being the important ones , from here I did Heimtextil Frankfurt and also buyer visits in Dubai . Mitsubishi Living Japan , sought me in 2002 May , and wanted me to be on their account and move to Delhi from Bombay , which I did , by that time Mitsubishi Living account was in Buying House , Alliance Merchandising owned by Mr.Sunil Sethi. From a Merchant in Alliance Merchandising Company , I was able to grow the business and was given the charge of several important accounts like HABITAT , CRATE and BARREL , CB2 , John Lewis and I was promoted to Merchandising Manager . From Alliance in Jan 2008 , I moved to LI & FUNG when Alliance was acquired . Heading a team of 3 people I was able to see my accounts flourish . In OCT 2010 I got an opportunity of sourcing from India and selling directly to the buyers like a trader in South America , through a Trading House , Grupo Kaybee. I took up the challenge and soon started operating from Chile , Santiago. I used to source from India , all types of Hometextiles and then travel to Mexico , Chile , Peru , Panama , Argentina , Colombia , Ecuador , Costa Rica to sell Indian Hometextile products , I lived in South America for almost one year . In 2012 , I returned to India and was looking for opportunities , and then Mr.Sethi suggested my role of working as Textile Consultant and do merchandising of Art Carpets and Natco account. I worked and curated and put together collections of upto 25 different vendors and designers together in exhibitions of INDIA DESIGN and Made in India SAMSKARA exhibition in India. Effective communication with in-depth product and manufacturing knowledge of HomeTextiles I bring to the table my services in getting the buyers the suitable products in terms of price , quality and options and also in ensuring that they get timely delivery of products by good vendor identification and sharp follow up on the time and action plan of production . Having done my Final Year project in POLLUTION CONTROL IN DYEING , I am a strong propagator of Organic and pollutionless processes and effluent management.
