ESSAR Shipping and ESSAR Ports Limited (Head – Internal Audit): 2012- to date.  Directed the day-to-day operations of the 10 member Internal Audit Department of listed and issuer companies ESSAR Shipping Limited and ESSAR Ports Limited and its subsidiaries (revenue: $3.2 billion FY 2014-15).  Conducted financial, regulatory & compliance audits and issued audits reports as per approved plan (by audit committee) including special audits triggered by management requests.  Presentation of the annual audit plan and quarterly audit results to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.  Performed Control Assessment per Sarbanes-Oxley by working with process owners to document all relevant processes and internal controls using flowcharts and narratives.  Tested key financial controls in-line with Sarbanes-Oxley assessments on an on-going basis and ensured that any deficiencies noted were remediated and retested.  Assisted in establishing policies and procedures for the auditing activity through the creation of an Internal Audit Charter and Department Handbook.  Coordinated the recruitment and hiring of the internal audit staff.  Reviewed all audit reports prior to issuance providing recommendations for improvement, accuracy and completeness.  Maintained effective working relations with executive and operational management through annual meetings with every division president and ancillary business president to review areas of risk and potential concerns.  Conducted Project audits (investment approx. $ 400 millions) throughout the ESSAR group with identified cost saving potential of $24 million including limited review conducted in ESSAR USA (Minnesota) following US GAAP.  Assisted external statutory auditor for conducting field work and control assessment work.

 Multi-country exposure in Audits of investment cycle,(CAPEX) at different locations e.g. ArcelorMittal Kazakhstan, Poland, Czech Republic, Mexico, South Africa, Ukraine and India. Successful reviews resulted in huge tangible savings in most of the projects in execution stage (> 20 Million Euro saving potential in 2010 in Poland in-house projects, HRM, Caster, Colour Coating Line ).  Review and investigation of purchase process of heavy machineries in ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (Ukraine), Temirtau Mining and Czech resulted in considerable savings and strengthening effective controls.  Built local team-expertise in performing critical audits of Production, Capex execution involving technical and project engineering related matters  Provided guidance on preparation of RCM, audit procedures and testing procedures for project auditing across various international units including sampling technique of project data. Conducted global technical and cost bench-marking of investment projects and identified cost saving areas by strengthening controls in procurement and project monitoring.

Feasibility, Detailed Project report, Planning & layout, design engineering, scope and package finalization of large and medium sized Green-filed and brown-filed metallurgical & chemical projects in integrated Steel Plants (Tata Steel and Steel Authority of India and other business houses). Responsibility included preparation of technical specification of Plant/ Mill , techno-commercial evaluation, system design, build project team and co-ordination between civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and process group for project realization.

EPC contracting of Gaseous Projects (Liquid Oxygen, Nitrogen, & Special Gasses) and LPG unloading, storage, handling projects. Contracting is also an added experience during the work.
